Chloe sullivan sat in her usual chair at the daily planet, tiredly, she read over her article. Pleased with herself she smiled, suddenly clumpy footsteps ran down towards her.
"Hey Chloe," Clark called softly, Chloe looked up absent mindly, she was now use to Clark's late night visits, even if they were only "friends" who happened to see each other all day and all night...
"I'm busy right now Clark," Chloe reminded thickly, Clark sat down to her, his facial expression teasing yet gentle.
"What are you exploring, how long it will take for you to sleep tonight after ten cups of coffee?" Clark asked jokingly, Chloe smiled strolling towards him amused.
"Oh, you're keeping watch of how much coffee I drink, nice, but a little overprotective if you ask me..." Chloe trailed off as Clark smiled softly.
"Sorry, well anyway, what's the case?" Clark asked intrigued, Chloe looked up from her computer puzzled.
"Shouldn't you know that if you watch me ALL the time!" Chloe challenged as Clark blushed crimson; he stammered feeling embarrassed.
"I, uh, I don't watch you..." he tried to say modestly, Chloe noticed that as he said it there was a gleaming smile across his lips,
That could light up all of Metropolis! Chloe thought bitting her pen cunningly.
"Uh, it's just an expose' on that stripper story where Lois went undercover, "bossy" wants to see it!" Chloe snapped, she shuffled papers around her desks hurriedly, Clark grabbed her arm gently.
"You shouldn't work so hard Chlo," Clark soothed as Chloe sighed.
"I know, but she is just so darn annoying-"
"DIE, DIE, HA HAAA!" Chloe was interrupted by a booming woman's voice coming from upstairs. Clark spun around rapidly and ran up the stairs in a flash. Chloe ran up in her blue heels clattering noisily.
"Wait, Clark it's just-"
"...Lois..." Clark flatered opening the door to find none other than Lois Lane playing a violent Xbox 360 game way too enthusiastically, Lois smile widened when she saw Clark sigh annoyed. Clark smiled pissed off not at Lois but, he had plans for tonight.
Typical, Lois on a Thursday night playing Dead Rising in Chloe's time, and happens to see me for the fifth time this week hanging with Chloe, oh boy! Clark sighed annoyed as Lois smiled teasingly.
"Don't sweat it Clarky, if it helps I didn't want to see you either!" Lois remarked witily but in such an annoying way, Clark's blue eyes rolled back really pissed.
"Oh thanks, Lois, me too," Clark trailed off; Chloe could see that these two were about to have one of their trademark sister/brother like arguements, she stepped in between them quickly.
"Okay, not that I don't want to watch your installment of world war three; but, I kind of needed the two of you to help not argue," Chloe cut in as they sighed apologetically.
"Sorry, Chloe, what was it you needed help with?" Clark asked interested, Lois rolled her eyes so far in boredom it was amazing that they didn't fall to the back of her head!
"Okay Smallville; enough with the sorrys', anyway whose butt are kicking cuz?" Lois asked cheerfully, Chloe glanced at them hopefully.
"Uh actually, we need to go back to a The Wingate...tonight." Chloe paused as Lois smiled.
"Okay, as long as I don't have to do a lap dance for MR I can't keep out of a stripclub," Lois paused shooting an accusing glance as Clark sighed; he was feeling very embarrassed right about now... Lois caught his glare and scoffed as Chloe wanted to die, pronto, and by the looks of lois' amazing job of embarrassing Clark she would be picking up his pieces!
"Oh, C'mon Clark, you could barely keep your eyes in their sockets, geez you boys are all the same! Sex, drugs and more-"
"Lois!" Clark yelled sharply unable to keep his annoyance levels low. "I was investiagting a murder not playing the stripper and the sexist male-"
"Okay," Chloe cut in before they could continue arguing, she spun on her two inch blue heel and faced them pleadingly.
"Just for tonight could you get along, I mean we will be in there and out, promise," Chloe promised; Clark glanced at her beautifu hazel eyes sparkeling.
How can I say no to her? she's so grogeous and Lois Lane should be called Lois-gets-in-the-way-Lane! Clark was lost in his own thoughts when Lois sung Clark's name brightly.
'Clark..." Lois sang trying to annoy Clark further, Clark sighed glancing at her unamused.
"Yes," Lois licked her lips teasingly, glancing at Clark's red jacket and blue shirt.
"You're not wearing that to the club, are you?" Lois chriped as Clark became impatient.
"What's wrong with it?" he demanded, he was seriously getting tired of her bad-ass and smarty pants attitude and they had no only be chatting for ten minutes!
"Well, it's okay if you want to be kicked out for looking sixteen!" Lois joked thickly.
"Lois, I'm nineteen!" Clark snapped replying, Lois covered her laughter with her hands before adding another comment.
"Did you say you were nine?" Lois teased, she waited for Clark's about-to-object facial epxresion then cut in. "Well you certainly act like one!" Lois teased she handed the controller to Clark smiling.
"Well come on farmboy, move it!" Lois winged but in her bossy couldn't-care-less way, Clark sighed irritably, great Lois this, Lois that, how was he going to tell Chloe about his plans now?
The phone rang donwstairs, Chloe raced to answer it, she was so fast that Lois nearly toppled!
"Chloe Sullivan, Daily Planet info line," Chloe answered in her reporter like voice, she remained quiet then smiled slamming down the phone.
"I just got a call from my source, Clark, Lois, we are investigating a kidnapping," Chloe announced, Clark listened in apprehensively.
"Who?" Clark asked eagerly, there was a pause and then Chloe looked up at him worriedly.
"Lana,"
More to come!
